The Sloe Gin Grapefruit is a cocktail of my own invention (I think) that came about after I bought a bottle of sloe gin. I wrote another post about the Sloe Gin Fizz with instructions on how to make your own at home, but there is nothing wrong with buying a bottle from the store, especially if you don’t live in an area with plentiful sloe berries. This is a champagne based cocktail that works great for garden parties or as a signature drink for get togethers with friends.
Pair This Cocktail With My Stuffed Peppadew Peppers
While I technically made this a champagne cocktail, feel free to substitute sparkling wine, as many times it is cheaper. It won’t change the flavor of this drink too much as you are really focusing on the mix of sloe berries and tart grapefruit.
Sloe Gin Grapefruit Ingredients
50 ml Sloe Gin
100 ml Champagne; or sparkling wine
30 ml Grapefruit Juice
1 tsp Lemon Juice
Lemon Peel; for garnish
Sloe Gin Grapefruit Instructions
1. In a fluted champagne glass pour in the sloe gin, grapefruit juice, then lemon juice in that order.
