Here we go again…another cocktail using Creme de Butterfly, a liqueur of my own creation from the Butterfly Pea Flower. While a month ago I started with how to make the perfect tea, I’ve been focusing on cocktails for the majority of my recipes into this pantheon. This Butterfly Fizz is a simple gin fizz with only one change.
Of course, the single change is the replacement of the sugar or simple syrup with the Creme de Butterfly. As the liqueur is a sweet, I didn’t need the original source of sweetness. Plus, this drink is slightly stronger than a regular gin fizz as the Butterfly Pea Flower Liqueur comes in at 20% abv.
Butterfly Fizz Ingredients
- 2 oz or 60 ml Gin. London Dry
- 1 oz or 30 ml Lemon Juice. Freshly Squeezed
- 3/4 oz 22.5 ml Creme de Butterfly.
- 2 oz or 60 ml Soda Water. More or less to fill the glass.
Add the gin, lemon juice, and Creme de Butterfly to a shaker. Give a dry shake. Fill a Collins glass with ice cubes and pour over the contents of the shaker. Top with soda water. Garnish with a lemon wheel.
