Blueberry Citrus Smash

Making smash cocktails is a great way to get rid of fruit that is just on the edge of turning. Hey, can’t be wasting fruits now when you can just put them in a cocktail. This blueberry citrus smash uses blueberries, lime, and blood orange. It seems like during this corona virus quarantine I’ve severely increased the amount of cocktails I make.
The steps for this are really easy, and you don’t really need any tools. In a rocks glass I added the fruit and muddled it with the handle of a rolling pin. Then I added plenty of vodka and ice, and then filled the rest with soda water. The end result: a fruity, tangy cocktail that has a punch.
This blueberry citrus smash uses 60 ml of vodka, or about 1 Eastern European shot. However you can absolutely raise it to 100 since the soda water neutralizes a lot of the vodka kick.

Blueberry Citrus Smash
Equipment
- Rocks Glass
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup Blueberries
- 2 wedges Blood Orange
- 1/2 small Lime
- 60 ml Vodka
- 100 ml Soda Water
Instructions
- In a rocks glass add the fruit and muddle it with either a proper muddler, or another kitchen tool. I used a French rolling pin and just smashed everything around. You can squeeze the juice from the citrus before muddling it to help release the liquid better.
- Add ice cubes and vodka and stir. Then add the soda water to the top. Garnish with a lime slice and a blueberry.
