Baked Cambozola with Caramel Pear

Baked Cambozola with Caramel Pear and Toast Points

This unique dessert is something that I threw together one day while figuring out how to use up some ingredients. With just 4 Ingredients: Cambozola, Pear, Sugar, and Toasted Bread, this is a perfect dessert for a dinner party.

It only takes about 20 minutes and takes very little skill, yet results in a dish most people have probably never had before. While this dish uses Cambozola, feel free to substitute a wheel of Brie or Camembert if you so desire.

Ingredients:

225 Grams Cambozola (I recommend this one as it has a really good melt consistency).

1 Pear (I used Bosc, but you can substitute any ripe pear aside from Asian pears as they don’t caramelize well in my opinion).

1 Cup White Sugar

4 Slices White Bread

Instructions:

1. Begin by putting a cup of sugar in a pan with the heat turned on high. Add a cup of water and DON’T MIX IT.

2. While waiting for the pan to boil, preheat the oven to 200 °C. and toast the white bread until golden.

3. Peel the skin off the pear, core the pear, and dice it into 1 centimeter cubes.

4. Once the water and sugar is boiling, add the pear and stir it up. Put the plate with Cambozola into the oven. You do not need to put it on a baking tray, the plate you plan to serve it in is fine as long as it is ceramic.

5. Once the pears caramelize (about 5-10 minutes of stirring) remove the Cambozola from the oven, and scoop the Caramel Pear around the cheese. Plate with the toast points and serve immediately.
