This isn’t your ordinary fruit salad, but it technically still is a fruit salad. This apple watermelon salad is perfect for those warm summer evenings.

Summertime means delicious fruit salads and potlucks with friends. This salad is the perfect mix of refreshing and delicious perfect for your next recipe. Only using three ingredients plus the dressing, this apple watermelon salad takes advantage of juicy watermelon. Ok Ok…so apples are technically a winter fruit, but they play so well here off the ripe watermelon and feta cheese I had to add them.
Of course you can choose any type of apples you like, as with any type of watermelon, but for this recipe I just chose simple Gala apples and a regular red watermelon. I used Danish White Cheese, but you can just as easily use Greek Feta or German Combi in it’s place.
This salad recipe makes a big bowl perfect for 4-6 people, but as with most recipes you can scale up or down to suit your needs.
Apple Watermelon Salad Ingredients:
- 2 Gala Apples
- 1/4 Large Red Watermelon
- 100 grams Danish White Cheese; Feta or Combi are also OK
- 2-3 tbsp of my Homemade Poppy Seed Dressing
Apple Watermelon Salad Instructions:
1. Prepare the ingredients by cubing the apples, watermelon, and cheese into roughly equal sized pieces. Add all the ingredients including the poppy seed dressing to a large bowl and toss well. Don’t be too rough as you don’t want to smash the cheese up, just enough to mix everything and get some dressing everywhere.
Notes:
You can use other apples such as Fuji or Pink Lady, however I would stay away from Granny Smith as the dressing is already quite tart and GS apples can be quite overpowering. For the watermelon, I just used a simple red watermelon and picked the seeds out for easy eating, but you could use a golden watermelon if you can find it like in my Golden Watermelon and Feta Salad.
